As your Regional and Town Councillor for Ward 7 since 2022, Nav Nanda has worked to make sure North Oakville’s growing communities get the infrastructure, services and attention they need. She has focused on practical issues that affect families every day, including safer streets, new community facilities, schools, responsible growth and stronger neighbourhoods.
During her time on Council, Nav has worked with community partners and other levels of government to help advance major investments in Ward 7, including the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex expansion, new pedestrian crossovers and road safety improvements, and new schools for North Oakville. She has also advocated for responsible development and planning that keeps pace with growth, with a focus on protecting established neighbourhoods and making sure new infrastructure is delivered alongside new homes.
Before being elected, Nav had already spent years serving the Oakville community. She served as President of the North Oakville Ward 7 Residents Association, Chair of the Oodenawi Public School Council and Vice Chair of We Love Oakville. She has also served as a member of the Ontario Honours and Awards Advisory Committee.
Born and raised in Ontario, Nav studied Sociology at the University of Toronto and completed an Honours degree in Law & Society at York University. She built her professional career as an executive in healthcare, including helping provide services and free PPE supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nav has lived in Oakville since 2006 and has called Ward 7 home since 2014. She is a mother of four and understands firsthand the importance of safe neighbourhoods, strong schools, reliable community services and planning for the future.
Her community service has been recognized through several honours, including the Key to the Town of Oakville, the Community Spirit Award and the Queen’s Jubilee Award.
Nav is running for re-election to continue serving Ward 7 and working with residents on the issues that matter most to our growing community.
